MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main research interest concerns the complex longitudinal relationships betweensubjective well-being (SWB) and external life circumstances such as income, marital status,or job status. I am particularly interested in how changes in these external circumstances affectSWB, how fast people adapt to these changes, why people differ in the extent and speed atwhich they react and adapt, and why different external circumstances have different effectson SWB. I examine these questions by analyzing longitudinal data sets with sophisticatedstatistical methods for longitudinal data, e. g., multilevel modeling, latent growth curvemodeling, or latent state-trait modeling.
