For many years comparative rankings have given the Department of Educational Sciences at the FU Berlin one of the top positions among all German Universities. The department is also the center for teacher education, which coordinates all teacher-training programs of the FU Berlin. Elementary Education can be studied within three subject areas.

 

Main foci of research in educational sciences at the FU Berlin are the anthropology of education, educational futurology, empirical education research, research on schools and research on classroom teaching, as well as intercultural educational science.
