Women-specific risk factors of depression: Vulnerable phases during the menstrual cycle and their influence on depressive symptoms and biological stress systems
In this project, depressive symptoms and subjective stress experience in the course of the female menstrual cycle are assessed as part of a smartphone-based ambulatory assessment. The aim is to identify menstrual cycle phases of increased and reduced vulnerability to the development of depressive symptoms. Biological markers, that might be female-specific influencing factors specifically for women, will also be investigated and implications for women-specific prevention derived.
