Prior to his graduation, Bati joined the lab in November 2020 for his MSc internship and thesis while being a student in the Social, Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) MSc program at Freie Universität Berlin. His MSc thesis titled “The Effects of Visual Backward Masking on Visuotemporal Neural Dynamics” aimed at distinguishing the visuotemporal dynamics of feedforward and feedback information flows (mediating object processing) in the human brain implementing behavioral assessment and various variants of multivariate EEG classification (i.e., multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA)/decoding) technique using support vector machines (SVMs). He was supervised by Prof. Radoslaw Cichy and Siying Xie.
