The WERA TASK FORCE Global Research in Extended Education Conference 2024, themed "Bricolage: Research Methodologies and Perspectives in Extended Education," was held from 11–14 September 2024 by the National Outside School Hours Services Alliance (NOSHSA) and Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.

Attended by around 150 participants from 15 different countries, the event featured two keynotes, 12 symposia, 32 paper presentations, and three panel sessions. These provided a platform for insightful discussions on best practices, challenges, and research findings, all contributing to the advancement of the field of extended education. One of the highlights was the site visits to out-of-school time services in Brisbane, which offered participants a first-hand look at local extended education practices.

The event also catalyzed the formation of new partnerships and collaborations between researchers from diverse national and cultural contexts, promising a positive impact on the future of the global research community in the field of extended education.
