Christoph Wulf, Dr. phil., ist Professor für Anthropologie und Erziehung, Mitglied des Interdisziplinären Zentrums für Historische Anthropologie, des Graduiertenkollegs „Körper-Inszenierungen (1997- 2006), des Sonderforschungsbereichs „Kulturen des Performativen“ (1999-2010), des Cluster of Excellence „Languages of Emotion“ (2007-2014; und des Graduiertenkollegs „InterArts Studies“ (2006-2015) an der Freien Universität Berlin. Er war Gründungssekretär der „Education Commission“ der „International Peace Research Association“, Mitglied der wissenschaftlichen Leitung des Funkkollegs „Beratung“ in der Erziehung“, Präsident des „Network Educational Science Amsterdam“, Vorsitzender der Kommission Pädagogische Anthropologie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft. Er ist Vorsitzender der „Experten-KommissionImmaterielles Kulturelles Erbe“ und Vizepräsident der Deutschen UNESCO-Kommission. Seine Bücher wurden in zwanzig Sprachen übersetzt.

CV Christoph Wulf (English)

Christoph Wulf is Professor of Anthropology and Education and a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Historical Anthropology, the Collaborative Research Centre “Cultures of Performance” (SFB, 1999-2011), the Cluster of Excellence “Languages of Emotions” (2007-2012), and the Graduate Schools “Body Staging” and “InterArts” at Freie Universität Berlin. He was founding secretary of the "Education Commission" of the "International Peace Research Association", co-director of the radio-based adult education course “Educational Counselling”, president of the "Network Educational Science Amsterdam", initiator and chairman of the Commission on Pedagogical Anthropology of the German Society for Educational Science. He is vice president of the German UNESCO Commission. For his anthropological research he was awarded the title "professor honoris causa" by the University of Bucharest. The German Society for Educational Science awarded him honorary membership. His books have been translated into 20 languages.

Research stays and invited professorships have included the following locations, among others: Stanford; Tokyo, Kyoto; Beijing, Shanghai, Mysore, Delhi; Paris, Lille, Strasbourg; Modena; Amsterdam; Stockholm; Copenhagen; London; Vienna; Rome, Lisbon; Moscow; Saint Petersburg, Kazan; Sao Paulo.

Major research areas: historical and cultural anthropology, educational anthropology, rituals, gestures, emotions, imagination, intercultural communication, mimesis, aesthetics, epistemology, research related to the Anthropocene.
