MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main research interest concerns the complex longitudinal relationships between
subjective well-being (SWB) and external life circumstances such as income, marital status,
or job status. I am particularly interested in how changes in these external circumstances affect
SWB, how fast people adapt to these changes, why people differ in the extent and speed at
which they react and adapt, and why different external circumstances have different effects
on SWB. I examine these questions by analyzing longitudinal data sets with sophisticated
statistical methods for longitudinal data, e. g., multilevel modeling, latent growth curve
modeling, or latent state-trait modeling.
