Abstract: Learning allows humans and animals to make predictions about the environment and increases the likelihood of adaptive behavior. In this presentation, I will discuss recent studies on dynamic learning in healthy younger adults and individuals with trait anxiety. These studies include reinforcement learning under perceptual uncertainty, assessed alongside pupil measurements as a proxy for central arousal. Additionally, I will explore aversive learning in individuals with trait anxiety, where our findings suggest no consistent anxiety-related learning biases, providing new insights into the relationship between anxiety and adaptive behavior.
