The WERA Task Force Global Research in Extended Education was represented through an invited symposium on ‘International Comparative Research in the Field of Extended Education: Empirical Approaches and Latest Findings’ at the ERAS Conference & WERA Focal Meeting in Singapore. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Marianne Schüpbach and Dr. Haiqin Ning, featured a diverse array of comparative studies between different national contexts. Four papers were presented: from Germany by Dr. Haiqin Ning, Jule Schmidt, Dr. Nanine Lilla, and Prof. Dr. Marianne Schüpbach; from Australia by Dr. Bruce Hurst and Prof. Dr. Jennifer Cartmel; from China by Prof. Dr. Wei Zhang and Prof. Dr. Mark Bray; from Denmark by Prof. Dr. Søren Christensen and Singapore by Prof. Dr. Jason Tan. The presentations were followed by a concluding discussion by Prof. Dr. Marianne Schüpbach and an engaging exchange with the audience on various aspects of the presentations.
